INTRODUCTION

The projects we have selected are a mixture of action research, consultancy, evaluation research, research and development. Please note that not all project work leads to reports which can be put in the public domain.

When we engage with people in organisations we always have in mind two kinds of outcomes. There is obviously the goal of helping them move forward with the particular problems and challenges that caused them to engage with us. However, there is a second and in many ways more important outcome, which is that the people we engage with should feel more able to deal in the future with issues that require the integration of human, organisational, technical and economic considerations. It is this longer term learning that is ultimately the main benefit to the organisation. It is noteworthy how often clients refer to ways in which they have been able to carry the work on.
